Assessment of the Readiness of Ukrainian Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises to Enter the Scandinavian Market: Regulatory, Marketing, and Patent-Legal Dimensions.

This applied study is conducted as part of doctoral research (PhD) aimed at empowering and accelerating the growth of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project bridges rigorous academic analysis with actionable business solutions, providing Ukrainian entrepreneurs with the tools, IP frameworks, and regulatory strategies required for sustainable integration into the Nordic market (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland).

INTEGRATION OF UKRAINIAN CITIZENS IN SWEDEN: POTENTIAL AND STRUCTURAL RISKS 2026

A survey of 723 Ukrainians in Sweden revealed an "integration paradox": despite high levels of adaptation (90% hold a Personnummer, 89% use BankID, over 50% are employed, and 61% have children in Swedish schools), only 11.3% assess their chances of successfully transitioning to a regular legal status as high. This is driven by excessive salary thresholds for work permits (attainable by just 15.1%), unfeasible family maintenance requirements (försörjningskrav), and the loss of tuition-free higher education for students—risking the loss of vital skills and public investments made in their integration.
